Overseer D-4N-0 spends their working hours drifting the lonely reaches of the mesosphere. From the confines of a mobile pilot station, they are one of many in a long chain of observation and escort drones that make up the planet spanning navigation guidance network for the sprawling cosmodromes below.
Between monitoring local civilian traffic, vetting military convoys, and escorting immense merchant freightliners in their slow descent to the delicate world below; D-4N-0 spends their moments watching the ever changing cloudscapes and vistas of the infinitely peaceful upper atmosphere. To be so small and to move with such ease amongst the colossal wonders of this heavenly space between glittering surface and inky void is the greatest joy D-4N-0 has ever known.
With great care they catalog their favorite moments in the modest reminiscence partition of their vast memory banks and, when each shift is over, descend to their nook within the warm embrace of Home Station. Within, they stretch each miniscule moment of blackout into timeless reverie. Each second stretches towards the infinite and is lost within the feedback loop of countless, lovingly cataloged, memories.
